5th String Jigger

Posted 3/21/2009 3:41:05 PM

I was going to put a spike at the 7th fret today, but just couldn't do it. Instead I made a řth String Jigger" or that's what I am calling it. I took an old ivory nut that I had made some 30 years ago, drilled a long lateral hold through it, removed some of the bottom part to reveal the saddle which goes over the fret and glued it to a tuner button. the button is necessary to put a small amount of pressure on the side of the neck so it will stay in place. Also with the button I can find it in my case easier. After I get a few more miles on it I may trim some of the button back but taking care not to remove the shoulders.
