Peter, the tone is beautiful, open back buget model to the top of the range bluegrass banjo, the voice of each banjo is awesome. But its the playability of the neck that took my breathe away as well as the tone. You should try one if you get the chance mate.

I haven't heard any of his resonator banjos yet, but the open back models are excellent. IMHO they sound great and look classy.
