This version is from The Murphy Method 'Easy Songs for Banjo.' I'm trying to work on my tone as I learn new songs.

Sounds like you've got the opening of that tune down well. Just keep at it and speed will come too. Later on you'll appreciate the great backup JD Crowe does on it. I suspect your banjo actually sounds even better because I thought the recording sounded a bit muddy, if that's the right word.

I just downloaded one of JD's versions from iTunes. I am ready to study :) I used this as a break at the jam today-they were playing A LOT faster and I kind of kept up.
And, yes the recording is muddy. I'm using the built in mic on my Mac. I just got a FireStudio recording system with mics for work. I'm having trouble actually getting it to work. In a couple of weeks my 'expert' will be back and, hopefully, my recordings will be more clear :) Thanks for listening.

I got all freaked out when I saw the rules on posting. I do not really make up my own arrangements, so I stopped.
