I spent three days trying to figure out this tune. I'm getting close, but it still needs lot of work.

Try the tune in double C tuning. and youll find the A part works out nicely when using the D6 cord (4thfret 1st string, 2ndfret 2nd, 4thfret 3rd) ... some low speed arpeggio needed with the 1st string instead of an open sting pull off. The A pert of this tune seems to 'hinge' on that D6th cord, with a few 7 fret slides thrown in for accent on the base C' ... although I play melodic style.
For the B part, the ornamented 'roll' works will with a little finger pull off and most of the other note work can be done using mostly the 2nd and third fingers from the 7th and 5th positions.
I tried this tune in open G and found double C to be 'much' better - tonally too.
Indeed this tune mimics the 'tail action' and metered gait of good hunting field dog ON the scent ... GREAT tune.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a try. At first I though you meant playing it in a different key. But it's still in G, played out of Double C.
