aDADE tuning 2-finger style. I first learned this in Am from an old Crockett Family recording and later changed it so I could play with fiddlers who all seem to set it in Dm. John Burke made a banjo tab book way back and I think a companion fiddle book. He set it in Dm and I suspect that's where everyone learned it.

Nice job, Chip!
Don't forget that Reed Martin has played it, for ages, too.
My version has an extra take-up measure between each part. That habit is due to playing it with an old bandmate -- who needed the measure, to get his bowing started-off right for the next section.
That extra measure drove Reed crazy, the first time he heard me play it. So... I try to play it, anytime I see him... ;-)

Thanks Ed. I'll go figure out an extra measure for it so next time we meet up we can play it together. Hope you're feeling well again. Hi from Tish.

hey chip. I'm pretty much a straight "bluegrasser". I like some clawhamme a littler, but not a big fan. However, your playing on "Sally in the Garden" was beautiful. I don't have the expertise to tell why it was so good, I just loved it. Keep pickin'.

Really nice job Chip, one of my favorite tunes, its fun to play "somber" and a real hoot to "rock out" on it. See ya at clifftop.

Very nice. And I'm glad you didn't play it fast.

Neat, Chip. This one has always been one of my favorites. I reckon it's about time I learned it. I think that'll be my project for tomorrow. I like your two-finger style on this one.

Great job it sounds Good In Dm. I've always played it in Am on fiddle and Banjo except for if I tune the banjo low to suit my voice and sing the lyrics.
