I publish this short demonstration of Derroll Adams technique, played by the webmaster of his site, Walter De Peuter who was his friend! You'll find on his Website all what you need to try Derroll style, made of a subtle down & up picking ! The Jonathan Richman standard in the ''Derroll way''! Copyright : Walter De Peuter, published with his friendly permission.

This recording comes from a long time out of print LP made by one of my favorite banjo & guitar player : Steve Waring... he teach me the frailing technique back in the early seventies... the guitar player is Claude Lefebvre, another famous guitar picker from France... It as a fine ''Medieval'' flavor in it... he plays it in G tuning, with the 2th string lowered to A# !

Before I'll post my own version, here is Steve Waring again, his version is based on John Burke's tab. The record is very old and a long time out of print, sorry for the scratches!
