some much needed help.

Friday, May 17, 2013

I disassembled my only banjo, epiphone mb 100. Took off the neck and strings to create a scoop in the neck. I put the banjo back together and strung in with earl Scruggs light guage strings, here's the problem, I'm most defiantly not getting the same tone that it gave before. I don't know exactly what I did wrong but I'm getting an awful metalic buzz every time I player strum from the fourth string open or fretted and  a similar sound from the others, the 5th string seems to be fine but at this point I'm frustrated and just wish I didn't do it. If anyone could give me some advice it would be much appreciated.
