My Old Friend

From 7wolfman on 5/17/2012 5:15:44 PM

                     Akyla's Song

Today I can't hold back my tears, my old friend has "gone to wind". We were best friends for more than fourteen years. I can only cry, "He's gone"!

His pack has all gone on before him, one by one into the misty woods.  But now, they bound all jubilant toward him. They howl "He's come"!

They run - they leap - they tumble: rejoicing. THE ALPHA has finally arrived, to lead the chorus again in voicing, "The Song"!

I've heard "The Song " so many times - the notes all long and round. Sometimes they've even sung in my honor: each voice a distinct and identifiable sound that proclaims,"I AM"!

So now, on bright and full moon nights, in my mind I'll hear them singing. Just off there a ways, beyond my sight, They say "So long,my friend,'til then"!

I know Akyla will lead the song that sings me to that home.

This has nothing to do with Recording King, or even Banjos in general, but I live alone, and the sadness overtook my better judgement.  I hope no one is offended by this . Thank you

I understand. I have no family except my wife. No friends. I found out yesterday that my wife has mulitple myeloma.
At first I thought you might be referring to Doug Dillard. Seems like the bad news just keeps piling up. First Earl, now Doug are walking the spirit path (as my people say). My heart, also, is on the ground this day.
Take care - and be a strong example.

Bohonkie: I don't know what God has planned for the world, or even what He has in mind for me; but I do know in my heart that He has a plan. That may be little comfort, but I will pray for you and your wife. Prayer works so please keep your head up... It has been said that a man is never taller than when he's on his knees....
My wife left some time ago, and my sorrow was for a wolfdog that has been my best friend for many years...seems insignificant now,but I'm going to miss him a lot.

I can see by your post why you grieve. I once had a wolf as a companion (full blood) and lost her years ago. Wiyu Kcmani Yo Win was a very special being and I'm a better person for having known her.
Those in the spirit world rely on us to be strong in this world.

at one tome we had seven wolves(rescued from cages) We referred to them as the Coonbottom Chorale, The wolf is believed by some people to be the spirit guide to the other side. I know I will see Akyla K'Tewa once again.
