Differences between the "Huber" series and the new Truetones?

Other than the obvious addition of the HR-30 tone ring and the engineered rim, what are the differences between say a Kalamazoo and the new VRB-75-41 or a Lancaster and the new VRB-3, Lexington/VRB-Granada etc. Is the old Huber series banjo with the full truetone upgrade (rim and ring) essentially the same banjo or have other parts been substituted/upgraded too?

	double E says: 2/12/2012 7:12:17 PM I second that. I guess you also have the Gibson style double cut peg head on the Vintage and the standard Huber peg head on the Lexington,Lancaster,etc...

What's the extra $255 for? Not a different shaped peg head, surely?
	Banjov1 says: 2/13/2012 10:30:34 AM That's a good question Chris... I think there's always been a premium charge for the vintage inlays and headstock that's probably being accounted for, but it might be worth some input from Steve Huber on this
	Barnet in AVL says: 2/15/2012 9:15:15 AM I may be wrong, but I believe Huber changed the who or how or both of their neck construction at some point a few years ago. The earlier Hubers will have a neck that is a bit thicker than the basic shape of the current one. I have an early Huber ('03 Lancaster) and its neck is definitely thicker than the one that was on the '10 Kalamazoo I once had. Got to say it doesn't make any significant difference to me, but the difference is there. Don't know exactly when they altered the necks.
	double E says: 2/15/2012 4:35:51 PM Thats interesting, could be right I don't know, that's one Steve or Jim at Huber may have to answer. I had kinda heard that Steve modeled the necks after his own personal prewar banjo. Maybe not in the beginning though. I'm not sure. The Lancaster I had, and the Vintage Truetone I have now, I thought felt pretty much the same.
momo says: 6/5/2012 10:02:16 AM I have a Buddy who has a new Vintage series Truetone, I have a 2006 one of the original limited edition Vintage series Hubers...I hear things in both of them I like.This sounds weird, but they sound the same but different.There is nothing different except the rim and ring combo. I dont know who builds his Banjos now...but the new ones look to my eye look different.
