This is a 12" 16 shoe Spartan banjo model with an unplated brass Dobson tone ring. Figured claro walnut neck, paddle headstock with ebony overlay, geared planet tuners w/ ebony knobs, gold pearl side dots, ebony fingerboard, double action truss rod and a 25.5" scale. 2 ply 3/8" thick x 2 7/8" deep birdseye maple rim, dyed burgundy, ebony rim cap, goat skin head and a BB tailpiece. The Dobson tone rings sound best on thinner rims, so I have been making 2 ply 3/8" thick rims to give the rim it's optimal ring. This banjo is really deep and warm sounding. Fairly lightweight.
