Up for sale or trade - Gibson Bowtie parts banjo. This banjo was built by a prominent, well known builder and is in basically mint condition. The banjo was built around an original 50's Gibson unplated 4 hole archtop tonering and original unplated Gibson tension hoop. The tube and plate flange , hooks and nuts are unplated and top quality by Jimmy Cox . The 3 ply maple rim was made by Mr. Kennedy; a former employee of Gibson in the 60's. The conversion neck is flamed maple and beautifully crafted with a great feel. The fretboard is high quality rosewood with Bowtie pearl inlays , with Mastertone pearl block. The resonator is beautifully made with highly flamed maple and two checkered concentric rings , similar to the prewar granada's. This is an awesome sounding and looking archtop.
