A very nice Robin Smith Heartland version of an RB-75.
Typical RB-75 appointments:
• Mahogany neck and resonator
• Resonator with concentric rings
• Flying Eagle inlay pattern
• Typical OPF construction
Special features:
• Radiused ebony fingerboard (one of Rob's specialties, as you likely know)
• Slightly heftier neck, similar to but not as extreme as Béla Fleck's
• Heartland no-hole tonering
The instrument comes with a TKL case in excellent condition. Solid, evenly-balanced sound. Structurally excellent, cosmetically very good, with the only wart being some significant button-trail type marks on the resonator and neck (not through the finish). Pics show the instrument with a skin head, which has now been replaced with a typical Remo head.
A very nice example of Rob's fine workmanship. Though the banjo has lived with me for some time in Fargo, she is currently visiting in and will travel from South Carolina (which suits her sense of weather).
Thanks for looking!
John
