For Sale my lovely Bart Reiter Special Openback banjo - UK ONLY

£600 or a reasonable offer - Local pickup from Durham area preferred, or I will travel a reasonable distance to sell, but I will be happy for the buyer to arrange an insured courier - (I will pack it well!)

This is a reluctant sale to fund a new project, and I will be very sad to see this banjo go - but go it must!

Anyone who is a regular hangout member will be very familiar with the excellent reputation that these banjos have, but they are VERY hard to acquire in the UK, This example is in excellent used condition (Specs below) with some normal wear listed below - the serial number puts it at 2003, and this banjo has aged nicely, with a lovely bright, warm tone with loads of plunk.

These are not 'fancy' banjos but are supreme work-horses and are of the utmost US craftsmanship! To import a new one from the US would cost over £1100.

Since I have had this banjo it has had the following upgrades:

- A professional Re-fret - the frets are in perfect condition
- Full Set Up
- A Remo renaissance head
- A No-knot tailpiece (for better plunk)
- A Moon bridge (imported from the US)

It is solid and in great shape - The ebony fingerboard is thick and will last a lifetime! I have listed as very good condition because there is a little discoloration on a couple of small areas on the rim, and lacquer on the back of the neck has a little wear in one place, which is barely noticeable. These are aesthetic issues only and quite minor - I will send over pics to any one who wants to see.

Comes with a Leather Strap and gig bag.
