This is one of the older Deering mutes. Made of stained cherry hardwood, it does an excellent job of muting the strings, as well as giving the effect of a ringing sound not dissimilar to pedal steel, increasing the sustain of the banjo. Ned Luberecki uses one in some of his shows to great effect. Will fit most bridges.
