Can anyone out there tell me what thickness and height brass flat bar for a tension hoop and what thickness round bar I would want to use in putting together my 12" Boucher style banjo pot. This is assuming I use a six hook configuration. I guess I will start here and ask more questions later if I have them.

I believe the original Boucher banjos used steel for the stretcher hoop.
I'm not one to tell folks what to do, but I would recommend against playing banjo in a minstrel show. That might not be a good idea.
