I have an old Ode long neck banjo on which its aluminum rim was milled to create a "flathead tone ring-like" situation in lieu of a discrete tone ring. Many other aluminum pot Ode Longnecks have rims that were similarly fashioned as archtops.
I was wondering if there was a general preference for the "archtop" or "flathead" versions of these old Ode Longnecks.
Thanks for your help.
