I am attempting to write a Python program to record a clip of banjo playing, and to transcribe it into tablature. We'll see how this goes...
So far, I recorded the mp3 below, and it spit out the following: (there's much work to be done)
It sounds okay to me, even though I've not progressed that far on my own "banjo journey."
I defer to conventional wisdom that tells me that eventually things will fall into place. 
Nice! I use python a lot for automation. My son writes games and all sorts of stuff with it. So versatile. I wish you success!
In that case, did it get all the notes right except the last one is an octave too low?
