I know owning one won't make me sound like Ned Luberecki or Jim Britton. But every one of these I have heard (admittedly, not in person) sounds great. And this one seems to be at a very reasonable price. I am surprised it has been available this long. Any thoughts or experiences (PMs are fine)? Its my understanding that these are the same build as the higher-end models without the bling. (And their bling is really nice).
I bought a Capek “Bob” model banjo in the Capek case a few years ago.
The banjo was in unplayed condition, just perfect.
I’ve owned some pretty nice banjos over the years, but this one was the best deal ever.
Capek banjos are very good.
And I like this “Bob” model, simple headstock and dot inlay.
I sort of regretted selling my RB 250 for a while… I’ll take this Capek any time.
edit: My "Bob" model Capek is the equal in craft and quality to any other banjo I've owned.

I hadn’t looked at the linked page before commenting earlier.
My “Bob” model Capek doesn’t have that relatively ornate resonator. It’s just a dark stained mahogany, with no other detail.
The “Bob” is sold as the least ornate model. I’m surprised to see that quilted mahogany finish and purfling.
edit: I just checked their website. That's how they're made now. That's different from when mine was made.
