This is an interesting article. I was surprised by the Kansas sandwich. What about your state?

Can only speak for my household [or more accurately my half of it] .... pretty much two slices of bread [rye if it's available] + any 2 or three of these in most any combo ... bologna, onion, tomatoes, cucumbers, mashed pork&beans, cheese [cheddar. or CheezWhiz], luncheon meat, bread&butter or dill pickle slices, left-over beef or pork roast, canned salmon .... you get the idea .... if/when I want a sandwich it's KISS all the way!!

.... and furthermore and moreover a hamburger ain't no sandwich ... AND if my wife ever offered me a sammich I think I might see if I could get her committed!!  [Aren't you glad you asked?!?!?  wink ]

Edit: .... Al, you snuck that in there while I was typing ....  I do support YMMV.

I take no issue with Maine's lobster roll. Now that I live on Cape Cod (Massachusetts), however, I must note that I've not seen anyone older than ten eating a fluffernutter for many and many a year.

Obviously, whoever wrote this story never had a North Shore roast beef sandwich.

Texas says brisket sandwich and I must agree. If I had to choose any sandwich at all, that would be the one I'd choose ... one with a little bit of spicy bbq sauce dripping off the side as you bite into the sandwich. The fries also work perfect with it.

Well, it looks like Brad had me fooled with: "Please let us know about your country, or district of another country as well."

I with hold a Canadian "Sorry" for including my share of our household as a "district" ... fwiw, I actually do know the diff.... at least on "good days."

I've been known to make irrelevant/off-topic comments in other threads.... why should this one be any different?   wink

Honestly Owen, I would have been disappointed if you had not added your state's favorite sammich ...... even though you are not a state ...... at least not yet!

Well, I’ve never had one,… “yet” ,,, but I dare say I’ll look into it this summer at various outdoor events with food stand concessions (Shady Grove Bluegrass Festival, anyone?)
“ Kubie Burger: A unique Alberta specialty from the Mundare area, consisting of a grilled burger-sized patty made from Ukrainian-style kubasa (kielbasa) sausage, often served with sauerkraut, mustard, and Swiss cheese.” I'm sure Johnny Bucyk and Cale Makar have wolfed down a few.

I remember well my first soft shell crab sandwiches in Philly and New Jersey. I was smitten for sure.
On my bucket list is a trip to the Maine Coast for lobster rolls. Brad

Here in da U.P. it’s probably the Cudighi Sandwich !!! Very regional and IMO it’s only good in a sandwich or by its lonesome, but don’t put Cudighi on a pizza or in other dishes or casseroles. It doesn’t play well with others!!!
I love it, but it has its place.
Slammer!!!

The unofficial state sandwich in Oregon would be a burrito the size of your calf.!

Yum; filled with french fries, beef, cheese and onions.

OK! I looked over the whole list, and I think we all need to do a road trip!!!
There were only a few that don’t do it for me. Not a pulled pork guy, as I think we OD’d on them during the many graduation parties for a few years.
Last week on the way home from New York , I had to stop in Cleveland at Slymans Deli. $23.00 for a Corned Beef and Swiss melt. Money well spent and what a treat!!!
Slammer!!!

Chuck, I expect the bun [crust all around] slows down the disintegration.  Anyhow, to me it looks like poutine on a bun, not a "real" sandwich.  devil

Al... my mother wouldn't even try lobster ... "I'm not gonna eat those insects!!"

Somehow the list needed a "beef on weck" in there, for W. New York. Brad
