I never thought about that before. It is an interesting question. A few minutes of thought on the subject lead me to wonder about the implications of the shockingly high number of clocks in my home. I am obviously a prisoner of time.
On the other hand, (no pun intended) it seems like most digital devices come with clocks these days. My video camera, portable audio recorder, CD player, etc. all have clocks on them or the ability to have the time displayed if you dig through the multiple menus.
I'm not a phone person so although my old cellphone has a clock, I rarely use it as I rarely have the phone with me. I carry an analog pocket watch and use that more than anything when I'm not home. At home I usually look at the digital clock on the range or the analog wall clock. There's also a clock on the microwave. There are alarm clocks in all the bedrooms. There's an antique cuckoo clock on the wall in the living room but it hasn't worked in years.
It's kinda weird but I'm probably gonna spend the rest of the afternoon looking for more clocks. Or maybe I'll ask my lovely and talented assistant. She loves finding items that I fail to locate. ![]()
I have 4 … I was just killing time when I read your post at a most opportune time....

3 clocks, a microwave, a stove, a desktop computer, a laptop computer, a CD audio player, 2 TVs, my cell phone, the cordless landline phone, my RC airplane transmitter, the HVAC thermostat, and the two cars in the garage. The clocks are analog; everything else is digital. The time displayed on the computers, the phones, and the TVS is accurate because the time on those devices is not controlled by me.

Too bad we aren't a bit closer to each other donc .... I could switch your clocks and you could clean the bathrooms in our house..... that's what's called a win-win, no? ![]()
[Mind you I'm not complaining, as in our household my wife does most of the cleaning and I do all the clock switching except her wristwatch. The status quo suits me just fine. ]
Same question as for stevebsq ... why not year-round DST?
Thanks Steve .... the way I see it is that although "everybody" has some pet concern or other, the one over-arching benefit is the time DST allows for summer evening recreation.... my concern (?) is that if/when decision time rolls around, "whatever" will carry more weight than is warranted.
I haven't counted up our clocks ... we have quite a few .... probably takes all of 2 minutes to get them changed.... but I don't tackle the formidable task all at one time .... just as I pass through a room, or by the device ... some before I hit the sack the night before, the rest probably by noon the next day, and Bob's my uncle.

"summer evening recreation" ,,, you mean baseball games where you gotta eat yer suppers in the dugout if'n we stay on SDT and have to schedule games earlier?
It depends upon how north you live. We are barely above the 49th but in early July it can stay bright enough to read a newspaper outside at 10:30. The other factor is where you are [from east to west] within your time zone. By August our outdoor jams at Trout lake [East Vancouver] have to end by about 9:15, unless of course you can find your frets without looking. By that time the mosquitos arrive and you better be dressed from neck to feet.
