Apologies if this is the wrong place for this question, but I've looked through the archives and everywhere inbetween and still can't figure it out. I'm using the most up to date version 3.05
I have transcribed a tune of two 11 measure sections and I want each section to repeat once. When I insert repeats it overrides the first/last note of the measure and there doesn't appear to be any way to select the bar line and put the repeat there.
When looking up this issue I see threads where the Reading List tool is suggested, but when I add the sequences (1-11) (1-11) (12-22) (12-22) it only saves the first sequence and everything that came after is gone. Is this unintended behavior (bug) or is there something I'm not understanding?
Edit-Insert-Repeats is the method I would prefer to use, but its putting them in place of the first/last note in my measures. It ignores the repeat signs on play-through anyway so it looks like I need to use the Reading List regardless.
The problem I'm having is the Reading List won't save my sequences after I move them to the right. The next time I open the prompt everything is gone. This is starting to sound like a bug on my end.

A few thoughts:
Unless this has changed in a recent update, repeats and endings are just visual guides for the human player. They do not, in and of themselves, affect playback. As you say: TablEdit ignores them.
Making the TablEdit midi player play the repeats and multiple endings is the job of the Reading List, in which you tell it which groups and sequences of measures to play -- which it will do regardless of your use of repeat signs and endings. You know about the Reading List.
There are two ways to create a Reading List. You apparently know and are using manual entry.
The other way is in the Edit > Insert > Ending and Repeats menu, where there's an underlined link/command: "Create Reading List from inserted symbols." This is the only time your ending and repeat symbols count for something.
It also occurs to me that TablEdit can be fussy about what constitutes actually entering and saving something. So be sure that when you manually enter your Reading List, you're clicking OK. You probably are. I'm just reaching here, because I know there are some dialogs in TablEdit where I think I've entered something and I didn't click out in the right way to make it happen.
Finally: Matthieu, the creator of TablEdt, runs a free online TablEdit support group/forum at Groups.io. Besides his own usual quick response to users' questions, there are several very knowledgeable TablEdit users who offer help. New versions of TablEdit are announced here. Sometimes new features come from user requests posted in the Group or from discussions Matthieu starts asking for user feedback on features he's considering.
Good luck.
The reading list doesn't say "OK" for me, the button with the green checkmark is labelled "close". I emailed Matthieu this morning and he told me that the button should be labelled "okay". Thank you for sharing the support group, I'll try and post the issue there and see if anyone else has encountered this.
I finally (kind of?) resolved the issue, or at least figured out how I can get the reading list to work. If I close and reopen the software it allows me to make exactly one change to the reading list, then everything else I try and do to it doesn't get saved until I close and reopen the software. Not necessarely a fix, but at least I found a workaround. Posting this in case anyone runs into the same issue down the road.
