Yup, need it every winter for my driveway to clear ice and packed snow I cant shovel.
So I put a 5-gal bucket and flathead shovel in my car last night and this morning when going to work I stopped and salvaged a small pile of rock salt left from a plow truck on the side of the interstate onramp. The pile had been sitting there all week and was just going to weather away. So what the heck...might as well put it to good use.
Good score and at a good price too. ![]()
Here's a pic of my shovel:

Our mid-90s Craftsman gave up the ghost last winter so we replaced it with one of ^^ bad boys [second-hand]. So far this year we've only had a couple of small snowfalls [translation: not enough to blow, so have just used the scraper]. Dunno whether that's a + or a - .
Owen what make is that bad boy? Honda or Cub Cadet? I kinnot read the logo.
In another reincarnation I used to weld snowblower parts at the MTD factory in Kitchener, Ontario, ( the town formerly known as Berlin, but changed to some British Lord’s name during WWll).

It's a Husqvarna. [And though you didn't ask, I'm sure you'll find it mucho interesting: This one has about 24 years of "new and improved" over the Craftsman, but the Craftsman's track-drive beats this one all hollow.
]
My understanding is that there's a l-o-t of names for relatively few manufacturers [like Asian made "beginner" banjos??] .... I'm too lazy to try to "look it up," but if your previous incarnation was in 1993 ........... well ... maybe .... ya never know.
1988-89 - yep, the MTD line had numerous model labels - Cub Cadet, Craftsman, MTD, Yard Man, and some I’ve forgotten. Same production line, then slap on a different logo & name.
After I left there the joint closed down,,,, not cuz I left, yuk,yuk, , but due the parent company in Cleveland kicking some Canadian a*s.
Had a MTD from Menards for many years and wrestled with for many years too. Growing up my neighbor had a Ariens and it shot snow forever!!!
Vowed some day I would have one. I do, and it’s a dream to use and other than a shear pin, never have problems. Has electric start but it pulls and starts so easy I never use it. I call it Ol One Pull .
Slammer!!!
That's ^^ how the Husqvarna is for starting [so far]. I keep it in the garage, so it's a bit warmer than outside.
An Ariens had come up for sale [a bit newer, but same price] but we didn't have time to go as we were set to head off to visit relatives. When we got back the Husqvarna was the best available [in our price range] at that time.... though we had to drive about 3.5 hours instead of 1.5. It's okay so far... after I tightened the impeller drive belt that is.

I suppose it would have been a bit of a hike, and in any event I guess it's a bit late now, but the video shows some spare salt on the roadway:
