I have an armrest here missing one threaded attachment shaft. I will find two hooks and nuts to swap out on. These attach via solder. Is there any special solder or would the standard solder used on circuit boards work?

Wayne that looks like lead in the missing leg location.

Try a soldering iron on it?  RA or RMA type flux will be your friend if it is lead...

I have had two piece armrests re-soldered with silver solder.

I had a jeweler do it a few times, asking for the plating to be preserved as much as possible. Last time I bought my own mini-silver solder kit at the hardware store and got it done, with only a speck of nickel plate cooked off. DON'T OVERHEAT!

This was without a doubt originally soldered with lead.
