Good morning - I just picked up a banjo late last year and recently picked it back up to try to learn it. I've played guitar for the better part of my life, but never got much enjoyment out of it - so far picking up the banjo has been the most fun I've ever had playing/experimenting with an instrument. It's great to see a community like this - so I look forward to going through the forum and picking up some information.
So far I've been just learning songs that I love (like Man of Constant Sorrow and I'll Fly Away, some hymns, etc) to try to see which style I might want to try to focus on first, but there's one song that I'm dying to try to play. Rent Strike has an album that incorporates some banjo and this song just sounds so fun to play. It's one of my wife's favorite songs from the album as well.
I'm still newer so do think this song may be tricky (seems fairly fast paced), but I think I can get it with enough practice and breaking it down to smaller sections - I've just not been able to find any tabs anywhere, and I'm not to the point where I think I can really piece it together myself.
The person who plays this song did release a video on Instagram showing some of the tuning involved and some of the notes (I'm not sure if I can post that link here) - but like I said, I'm still new to the banjo so having something in tabs that I can reference and break down would be incredible.
Band: Rent Strike
Album: IX
Song: Don't let love bog you down
Also - I'm not sure if this is allowed, but I read through the "How to request a tab guidelines for newbies" post and didn't see anything against it. If anyone has recommendations for other services to request banjo tabs, please let me know since I'm sure there will be other songs I want to learn that don't have tabs online, and I'd very much like to support someone if I'm able to.
Are you aware that we have a tab archive that has several thousand tabs, all free? Feel free to check out any and all tabs and play, download or listen to any we have.
You'll need the correct software to download most tabs and the most frequently are Tabledit. A short version of it, TefView, can be downloaded here: tabledit.com/tefview/index.shtml.
Browse around and look, download and enjoy.
I don't tab for this tune in the Tab Library. But these li9nks might help someone. It appears to be in the key of E, though I haven't tried to identofy the tuning.

The creator of the song released an Instagram post with some information around the tuning. I'm trying to post it here but I'm not sure if the forum will let me: instagram.com/reel/DBwGGqLJAza/?hl=en
A capo is the second fret:
g# - E - G# - B - E
Nice to see another Rent Strike fan!
It's not a tab, but John did a tutorial for this song on instagram a while back:

edit: hah! you beat me to it. guess you already knew :). it's a real slog at first, but looping the video and getting it a couple notes at a time will eventually get you there. :)
