What a difference it is working for a company that actually wants to improve their product line. Justin is making some great changes to their MASTERTONE line which you guys are going to love. Since I'm just a consultant I really don't want to tell you what's coming I'll leave that to Goldtone. I'll be heading to Florida in a few weeks to meet everyone and hopefully see some prototypes.

The gang at Gold Tone just fit my no hearts/no logo Bela neck to my 11" block pot. Apparently it turned out pretty nice. David at Gold Tone has been superb to deal with...seriously.

How soon can we expect to see banjos influenced by your work arrive in production, and then in stores?

I know Justin has been in touch with the factories that are making the changes. However I really don't know production schedules or lead times. I can say this there's a new model that will hopefully debut soon that's going to blow everyone's mind.
I'm hoping to see the prototype in a few weeks.

Greg,
After you get done upgrading their Mastertones, I'd love to see what you can do to their open backs as well! Will be watching!!

Wow, this is a cool upbeat chapter in an ongoing saga, nice to hear this. Thanks Greg. Say howdy as you fly over me in South Carolina one your way to Florida! Save travels to you.

How about a helium-filled tone ring to reduce the weight--and perhaps to raise the pitch by an octave or so?

Or even better..how about an onboard AI system that you can directly plug into your brainstem so you can play exactly like Earl or JD..would only need to do it for a few weeks of practice to develop the neuronal pathways and muscle memory...c'mon Mr Rich, if anybody could make it happen it would be you..LOL

Hmmm... maybe they will let you design a longneck -- perhaps that Cold Day in Hell model we used to joke about.

If the brain surgery in February is successful, I may regain function in my left arm and play again (no joke--that's happening).
