I have an original style blue chip that I’ve had for around 15 years! Love it! Never wears out

I was thinking of trying one of the other two styles JD and Russ, any thoughts on theses? Thanks Logan

I tried the Russ Carson but sent it back for the JD Crowe.
My favorite thumb picks were always the Goldengate picks.
The JD Crowe thumb pick was easy for me to use; it plays just like the Goldengate thumb picks.
I can switch between either of those thumb picks without a problem.

I haven't tried the Russ but I would be interested in what people think. After I got my JD I found no reason to look further.

I have both. The Russ is a little wider and longer. I use both off and on.

“After I got my JD I found no reason to look further.“

That’s been my experience, although I do like the ProPik.

The blade on the Russ Carson was a little too long and the band set a little too far back on my thumb for my liking. The Crowe blade was a little too short and didn’t set back far enough for my liking. I finally settled on the original but still use the Dunlop ultex and golden gate clown confetti . That’s My two cents . God bless

I also tried the Russ Carson and didn’t like it. I use the JD.

I've been using the Russ Carson for about 5 years and I like it. But I've never tried any others.

I’ve owned both the original style and JD style. Then original style is longer and has a narrower blade compared to the JD. The JD style seems to be an exact copy of a modern National thumb pick (shorter than original style and not as wide as a modern Golden Gate). I never thought I’d drop $40 on a thumb pick, but I’ve been extremely happy with my JD blue chip for past 6 years. I even bought multiple backups.
