A friend gave me this some time ago. It looks like a home-job, but I feel like I remember seeing something similar here on the hangout some years ago. It is solid maple and measures 11 1/4" diameter x 2 1/4" deep.
I most likely won't do anything with it, and have considered listing it for sale.
Any thoughts or ideas?
Solid body electric instruments really only vary by the string configuration. If you put a guitar neck on it, it's an electric guitar. If you put a banjo neck on it, it's an electric banjo. Mandolin, etc. The body and neck of a solid electric instrument have no effect on tone. It's 100% in the electronics. So you can basically do whatever you want with it. Sure, the body is round, but it'll still just sound like an electric guitar.

I do realize that fact. I was just going off of that most electric guitar and bass necks are bolted on from the back being seated in a rectangular pocket, whereas this has two holes drilled through the side wall with an access slot cut for the neck to bolt on, like many banjo necks do. And, that it's round.
Just wanted to see if this was someone making them, or a one-off.
