I commenced on the job of filling in divots using ebony dust and thin CA glue. I normally use Painter Magic activator here but it is becoming harder to get. I purchased locally a s-pray can of activator and below is the result. It went instantly white.
I tried cleaning it off with acetone and was marginally successful.
Anyone have any idea why this happened?
One thing I noticed was the wording on the can ... "IPA-based. Activator for delicate plastics & sensitive substrates".
Perhaps this is not compatible for use with ebony wood or the CA glue I am using.

Thanks for the response Bob. I have just retested it and no matter how much ior little I spray or apply (I even have it in a small squeeze bottle), it still goes white upon drying. I guess that is not useful for working with woods.
This will fix the white blushing problem. It cures a bit slower.

I have done a search and that product is not available here in New Zealand. It really wouldn't be worth the cost given the exchange rate and the shipping cost. I have experimented with various things and found what works and what doesn't. I will stick (no pun intended) with what I know.

Thanks for that. I did not consider it. Will do some testing.
