If it is now ok to discuss religion and mock Christian beliefs, can I go ahead and say what I really think about politics too? This isn't really what I consider religious and it's okay to have a little fun and a few laughs about something is so unlikely to happen right now. No one is mocking Christian beliefs.
Calm down and don't get upset, please.
Jon has a fair point.
What exactly would you consider religious if this isn't?
The post is literally mocking some peoples' religious beliefs.
Please don't tell him to calm down/not get upset. (that's gaslighting, not moderating)
Surely there is some distinction to be made between mocking belief in the Rapture in a general sense and remarking (if a bit snidely/sarcastically) upon the objective fact that it failed to occur yesterday. That latter was a belief, and one unequivocally disproven. I hope I'm not breaking a rule by saying that, but that's the truth.
Even with those distinctions it is still mocking when we get down to it.
I feel sad for some folks that look forward to it (rapture). I think they are often tired, beat down, and wish for something else and find something to latch on to/look forward to (to put it simply). I don't know that they should be thrown them down any further than they may already be. I think they get a good chance to take a new look a life and their faith etc and move forward...
and sure, there is some room for some humor overall in the situation which I can understand from various angles/side in there as there probably has been since the idea (rapture) came around (it is built in to the whole scenario). Plus, plenty of rapture believers seem to just move the date etc and repeat a pattern, there are those that make money selling fear etc etc etc...plus not all Christians believe in it etc gets complicated quick.
I'm personally fine with some discourse and jest/jokes discussion...buuuut...the issue is the forum's rules and where the lines get drawn (particularly when a mod gaslights someone for calling it out).
A ban on religion seems overkill to me (though I can understand as topics can easily get out of hand/are difficult to discuss (even in their respective forums there are forum wars haha), but if there is one (a ban) it should probably be upheld fairly solidly/straight accross the board or be more clearly defined etc.
I'm sure the more post we add on the more likely for ban haha

Here's some religion:
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Matthew 24:36
This same idea is repeated throughout the New Testament, in at least 7 other places. There simply is no biblical support for anyone but God knowing the time of the rapture.
It is sad that some people are tricked into believing otherwise. Sad.
Some of you would benefit from picking up a Bible. And reading it.
Others... well... Mock away! Christians never throw people off rooftops or behead them for mocking.
(that was humor.)

I guess the rules are for some and not all

Wow, what a feather in their caps! Any other attributes? ( ;-)
Just to make sure we're all clear haha: People do things using their interpretation of Christianity as a reason/excuse/justification.
let's not throw the baby out with the bath water (so the saying goes).

My apologies for posting this,, a bad attempt at humour.
If the second biggest event in Christianity in the first sentence, followed by the mention of Satin in the second sentence… isn’t religion, then Scruggs and Mastertone isn’t banjo. When I saw the first post, I figured it would last about 30 seconds. No complaints, it’s been an interesting thread. I figured the rapture had little chance, since the face book and YouTube watch parties were hardly a thief in the night.

I thought I'd better get my reply in before the lock, which I suspect is coming any minute. But no, Scruggs and Mastertone aren't all there is to banjo, though you might think so, listening to some people.
Since the lock is coming anyway, allow me to point out that the "rapture" is nowhere in the Bible, it was the invention of John Nelson Darby, a theologian back in the first half of the 19th Century, based on his excruciatingly creative interpretation of some Old and New Testament passages. A couple of times, crowds of people gave away all their possessions and followed him to a mountaintop on the days he predicted, only to be sadly disappointed. I read a book about it years ago, but I can't remember the title.
I was making fun of banjo picker, something I have been doing for over 50 years.
