N ..how dose that work?
Perhaps you could be a bit more specific.
What is the new phone, and what were you using before?
Al, reading between the lines here, would I be correct in assuming that your old ear buds were corded, and your new phone doesn't have a jack for same?
If this is the case, then bluetooth is absolutely the way to go. Now, WHICH earbuds to choose is really a function of who made the phone. Apple's AirPods aren't the highest rated out there for sound quality, but they're pretty darned good. I have a pair that has active noise cancelling... I used to carry a set of over-ear headphones with noise cancelling when I was flying. Right before my last trip, my puppy ate them, so I did the trip with the AirPods. They worked just fine in quieting down the ambient noise in the plane.
If you're working with another phone that uses Google's operating system, you have a lot of options (as I understand it, you can use AirPods with other systems, and other buds with Apple, but setup and operation can be a bit more persnickety).
My bet is that with a bit of online research and talking to the place where you got your phone, you can get something that works well for you. You can probably even have them pair the buds with your phone for you.

You are correct on the situation Skip..
I am ignorant nuff..(n...can proove it..)..
That i thought only corded ear buds were ear buds..
So I am lacking in the tech dept... :0/
If you have any modern cell phone, when you activate your new ear buds within range of the phone, the buds should send a signal that the phone will make note of in the bluetooth area of your phone. You basically just follow the instructions that came with the buds or instructions on the phone to 'pair,' them with each other and your volume controls on the phone will control your ear buds. Not really a tech heavy task, more intuitive. You will enjoy them.
My phone is paired with my hearing aids and they are basically the same as earbuds in the music department.
Make a play list on your phone and enjoy music without the cord.
Bobby
Had the same problem Fig, and being an Amazon lover, I ordered wireless earbuds , brand name Tozo for under $30.00. Work great and rechargeable.
Easy hookup to phone and Bluetooth. No need to spend big bucks.
My new hearing aids have Bluetooth and work great listening to music. I use Pandora . Can also answer phone and speak through the Tozos and my hearing aids.
Slammer!!!
