Gotta give those guys credit. They were tough!
I remember in the last few years someone reported on how Monroe got tires for his airport limo during WWII rationing. It turned out the limo used the same size tire as some model of airplane, and you could buy the used airplane tires with no problem. THAT's "tough".
Jimmy Martin used to brag how when on the road (no hotel) they would drain hot water out of the car radiator in the morning to shave with!!! That's tough!
when flatt and scruggs stepped up to the martha white bus they were cadillacing... and it was tight in there... if you never got to walk into it it is pretty small in there.
