Thinking about my Chief
I’ve had a plenty banjo, gold tone, gold star new and old, Huber, louzee/hopkins, Yates, hatfields, and prob more I’m forgetting
The one I absolutely will not ever sell is my mahogany chief, it just has what I like, I feel it through the neck, the bass is just I can’t even find the words, blows me away, I love it
I can post inside rim, serial number etc, it’s a older one, FE Carlton case, I think I used to know what kind of ring was in it, but don’t recall, I’m fairly certain it’s not a Huber ring, thinking it’s a Blaylock? I could call frank ir Ricky but I don’t think they have these details well documented
What other rings were used in these ?
Of all the banjos I’ve had I’d say Neat is my favorite , has a few chiefs and my stsnleytone, wish I kept my first chief, I decided it was too pretty for me! Gold plated price case, Indian motif it was gorgeous
Any thoughts without taking it apart? It ain’t broke so not go and tear it down
edit-fee gibbons as well, Crowe was a decent Banjo , Other was ehhh, ok
