My wife's work has a 1-year out request system so trying to figure out the 2026 dates but can't find anywhere that they're posted that far out. I assume it'll be in the same time frame as previous years though. Last year was 2nd full week of August... so 2026 would start on Tuesday August 11, through the Saturday, August 15. Does that sound right?

I don't recall, dates for the next camp ever being announced before the current year camp happens. But as far as I can tell from a quick search, August 18 is the latest the camp has ever run. So your guess is probably correct. Not guaranteed, of course.

And neither is attendance. So good luck with your audition!

It's a great experience. Best "camp" food you're likely to have anywhere. Especially the concert night buffet.

It's possible the 2026 dates are in fact known, since Bela's camp organization probably needs to secure the Brevard Music Center (campus) well in advance. It would not surprise me if Blue Ridge Banjo Camp has a standing first-call for its typical August week.

The place exists as an all-ages music camp, with programs for high-school through college age orchestral musicians, an adult (30+) guitar camp, and since 2018 Bela's Blue Ridge Banjo Camp -- which is now a day longer than in the original two years.

As to lodging: I'm pretty sure all the instructors stay on campus.

Interesting but minor clarification - it's not Bela Fleck's organization... I asked about this last year when I attended. Blueridge Camps is its own organization and it hires celebrity musicians for its week or so intensives. Bela is for the Banjo. There was a fiddle player there last year who mentioned they'd be starting one with him. And I think there's a mandolin or guitar camp too.
