Walnut B/S, Maple Neck with Cherry Fretboard, Spruce Top.. all left over pieces from projects past, just too good to throw out, so this little idea crept into my head.! Neck/Body angle is a bit steep, but will craft a taller bridge to compensate, otherwise a novelty piece for the acoustic collection..

How's it sound?
For sure not the rasp or sharpness of a banjo head, not a guitar sound either. Woody resonance, walnut and spruce and from some acoustic guitar projects, and I really have grown to like that combination of wood.
I have built about 17 of them using cigar boxes. The necks run all the way thru the box, kinda like a dowel stick banjo neck. I sketch out the side view of the neck with the thickness of the top of the box included. I install the neck temporarily in the box and check for the string clearance using a straight edge and the bridge, make corrections as best as I can determine guessing at the top deflection once the strings are installed. Sometimes I have to alter the bridge height for the best string clearance once the banjo is completed,
