I grew up in Pennsylvania Dutch country in the 40-50's. There was a large presence of the accordion among the German & Polish communities, & the many bands that played at public events. Accordion lessons & "accordion bands" were a common thing. However, I really fell for the accordion when I heard slow tango music from South America.
On the other hand, I can't resist a good banjo, accordion thrashing.

I've never gotten serious with drums, but I do have a Farmer foot drum (https://www.footdrums.com/sets/).
I have been thinking of making a stump fiddle to take to gigs. Haven’t got the stick(guts)to do it yet.

Would also go well w/accordion!!?? lol
I'm the only banjo player in our jam. I've heard them all, and especially banjo jokes that include an accordion, as if the only thing worse is a banjo. I just have to say, that kind of jealousy and envy is sad to see every week. I almost want to go over and give them a hug, tell them that they're going to be okay.

The trio I play in has a full time accordion player! It works for what we do, I guess (I hope!)

The jams around here often have accordion players. I showed ^^ to one of them .... she took it in good spirit, and didn't even counter with anything about banjos, or my inept "playing."
