Hi,
Anyone know anything about this tenor banjo?
Does it have any value or is it worth fixing?
Thanks!

It's a little hard to see, but the headstock shape looks like a Gretsch.

If you are looking to sell it, you could probably get $200 as it is... It isn't worth paying someone to fix it up if you are going to sell it anyway, as you'd loose money...

Peghead is shaped like a Gretsch, the rim and hardware look like a Slingerland, and the inlays have a Lange vibe to them.

Lots of Gretschs have Waverly hardware including the Clarophone I bought last week. Although Slingerland used it, too, this banjo looks like a Gretsch.

I was wondering if the bridge on mine could possible be original. It is identical to the one in the OP.

When I was at Gryphon Strings yesterday looking for a matching tuner for mine, Richard told me that he suspected a lot of cross-pollination between Gretsch and Slingerland. Maybe…
