I always got a kick out of the one that says "that wasn't chicken".

years ago my wife got one which read "a friend will betray you", which she found a bit off-putting in a fortune cookie.

I just wouldn't look at it. In fact, I wouldn't ever buy and/or eat fortune cookies. To me, they aren't that good.

^^agree not worth eating. We just break open and read the fortunes and throw the cookies away. They come free with take-out.

Makes me think of the "Home Improvement" episode with the guy making fortune cookies. Tim called them "Misfortune Cookies"

Whenever we get fortune cookies we add "in bed" to the end of the fortune when we read it.

Absolutely ANCIENT joke about one that said:
"HELP! I'm being held prisoner in a Chinese cookie factory!"

I once read that fortune cookies contained less cholesterol than other baked goods. Sugar flavored cardboard would also meet this criteria.
Getting more serious... I once had to spend a week learning how to perform simple tasks on a computer which were traditionally done in the telephone company with pencils and paper. I was actually sitting in an office with others around me doing actual work. After the first few days my wife and I went out for Chinese food because it was Friday evening. The fortune cookie actually said... " You will go farther in life if you take a computer course" . Than was in 1983. I guess the whole world was getting excited about computers or maybe I was just part of a greater conspiracy.
