Hi Y'all, I'd appreciate a recommendation for an Atlanta area luthier that knows banjos and can do a dowel reset. I can call the luthier I've used for years for guitar repair and fretwork on banjos. But if you know of someone, please let me know. Thanks!

That dowel has the L shaped bracket on the tailpiece end. There is a slip slot it appears in the picture against the part up against the pot. If it’s at its limit one could put a shim under the L bracket that against the dowel stick. One could also use a very thin washer there too. Then get the appropriate height bridge for the string height. It's all whichever direction your wanting to go. Up or down
