I contacted them. The ad is a month old. If it's still there I'll offer $550. Great Lakes made pretty decent banjos, no? Except for that whole varnish ordeal. This one looks well played. At least the wood does.

All I know about Great Lakes is that Bill Keith played one, which is about as stunning of an endorsement as you can get. But his was a top-tension resonator, not an open back.
