This 30-second audio snip (see attached "Fox Movietone" MP3 file) is from a surviving 35mm fragment of a lost film, "Fox Movietone Follies of 1929." It's a snappy chorus number, but the song isn't identified. If you'd like to see the clip itself, it starts at the 4:00 minute mark on this YouTube address: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zqrx0jKqylc
I'm posting the audio here, hoping that someone out there might be able to identify it. Any takers? I'm also poking around the Internet for any sheet music that might have been issued in conjunction with the movie, in the hopes that this number might also be part of that, but no luck so far. SETH

I would start with the identified guys who wrote the other tunes. Most movie studios used a single team that wrote all the music for the picture.
It may simply be incidental music, never published. Musical directors usually had stuff they could pull out of their hat for such routines. Even if the movie became a hit, some of the music would never see the light of day.
Thanks Marc, for the suggestion! All of the songs were written by Con Conrad, Archie Gottler and Sidney D. Mitchell. Conrad also wrote "Margie," "Barney Google" and "The Continental" (which received a Academy Award for Best Song in 1934). So I'll continue my search from there.
However, I think you may be right that this particuIar tune was just some stock number that was used as incidental music. Nothing like it is listed as one of the songs used in the film. SETH
