Just completed my first Gourd Banjo build for a repeat customer. Quite the departure from building a bluegrass banjo!
I lined the gourd with epoxy resin and fiberglass cloth. The neck is figured walnut. I finished the neck and the outside of the gourd with True Oil.
I thought about making my own maple tuners, but I ended up buying them from online. Working with in the clients budget kinda kept me from spending the time to make them. Plus, buying 4/4 maple tuning pegs was actually very affordable.
