Has been raided.....by a few oppertoonists..
As is and has been the case, from ancient days until now.
Can you be specific, without breaking the No Politics rule?
Back before there were any Billionaires, Dwight David Eisenhower warned us about the "Military-Industrial Complex".
In his opinion, people who made money selling weapons would not hesitate to influence the military to buy and use those weapons.
Since bombs, bullets, and missiles cannot be re-used, more and more would have to be built and sold.
And military leaders or elected officials who were promised high-paying jobs IN those industries, upon retirement from their original jobs, would be more likely to agitate FOR more weapons.

Honesty?...Empathy?...Benevolence???? Isn't that the universe we ascribe to?
Our reality doesn't "unfold"....We create it.

No. That's just the universe unfolding through human nature. We are supposed to fight those inner demons - or external demons, as the case may be. I'm getting close to citing scripture here. Is that one of the forbidden topics?

I think the threat from the MIC has been surpassed by the societal threat posed by unbridled capitalism/big business always chasing ever-increasing-profits, higher share prices, and perpetual growth. It is unsustainable and corporations in general are spending less on innovation and research to achieve higher returns through better services and products, but instead inflated prices for crappier services/products and they no longer re-invest into the communities in which they pillage from to source their wage slaves. Today, it's extreme socialism for the masses and extreme capitalism for the oligarchs. Kind of like in China and Russia.
This has led to the collapse of the job and housing markets in pretty much all of the West today. Coupled with the recent general obsession with extreme socialism and corporate welfare (massive governments, sky high taxes, gov't funded bail-outs, etc), which spells certain disaster for future generations.
The future is extremely bleak and the young ones coming up today see these problems with big business and the stagnant economies and have turned to socialism as a resort, which only perpetuates the issue like a closed feedback loop.
