In the early 90s I was adding onto this house one summer day. While setting the ridge board I could see that a semi truck had stopped near the entrance of my driveway.
Narrow two-lane country road with no place for the big truck to get out of the road.
I thought "Maybe he broke down" when a minute later a big man came walking up my driveway (600') with my Chocolate Lab puppy following him.
I climbed down the ladder and went to them and my "Mocha" ran to me.
He said to me with a smile,"I guess this is where she belongs. She was laying in the middle of the road and I figured this driveway belonged to her."
He went on with "They've been shooting a Forrest Gump movie piece at the lighthouse (Marshall Point) here today and I have all their equipment. There was no way I was going to run over her.Have a great day, sir." and we shook hands as I thanked him profusely.
He smiled and said "I was happy to bring her home."
