I have no clue how pi, slipping, and pizza are connected. I’ll have to ask Ohio Anthony if he has any ideas….

I haven't done any official* tally/study/research, but i suspect "cow pie" would be the most common label in this part of the world, by a fair bit, though maybe I picked a poor pic as an example ... maybe ^^ is not quite moist and flat enough to be considered a "pie"??

* nor unofficial for that matter.  sad

*** Where's Bob/RV6 when ya need him???  ***  I expect he's seen enough of them [and maybe even stepped in a few] to know what's what.

In the winter, when cattle are on maintenance rations [in a corral, or feedyard ... nowhere near a meadow or pasture], the "whatever-it-is" looks mucho like my ^^ pic.   I tells ya they're cow pies ... even when produced by a steer or bull.  And that's no bull!!

And on the "step in it" slant, here's one of my wife doing the farmers' two-step several years back.

Lighten up, Roxy, get a sense of humor. It's all in good fun, nothing awful about it.

I lived in R.I. a couple of times.
Two of my wives came from there.
The friends I know from there have great senses of humor and are really good musicians.
Played some good music at Poor Annie's Pub and the Met Cafe.
Used to hang out at Michael Allison's shop.

From the Collins dictionary:

"awful   in American English

adjective

1.  inspiring awe; highly impressive

2.  causing fearterrifying

3.  dreadful; appalling

4.  full of awe; reverential

5.  very bad, ugly, unpleasant, etc.  an awful joke

6.  Informal great  an awful lot of laughing"

Dunno for sure, but I assume Roxsanne was referring to definitions 1, 4 or 6.  wink

Could be,Roxy as Maine supplies 99% of the world's lobsters and there are only 6,000 lobstermen.

I dunno. This report  https://westernrocklobster.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Global-Trade-Report-2022.pdf from 2022 says, among other things, that: "... Global production of lobster is dominated by catches of American lobster (Homarus americanus) along the Atlantic coast of Canada and the north-east of the United States. This relatively small area accounts for more than 60 per cent of the global production of lobster ... " and, "Canada accounts for over half of the American lobster catch, with the largest lobster populations found around Nova Scotia and the southern Gulf of Saint Lawrence. For the US, lobster abundance decreases from north to south, with almost all of the catch attributable to Maine and the rest of the New England region."

Gotta take issue, we're sensitive about Canada's importance these days ...

"Canada is a leading producer of lobster, accounting for over one-third of the world's total lobster landings.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

  • Global Dominance:

Canada is a major player in the global lobster industry, known for its abundant lobster fisheries, particularly along the eastern coast.

  • Landings:

In 2021, Canada landed 105,709 tonnes of lobster, which is roughly one-third of the world's total lobster landings.

  • Other major producers

The United States came second with 63,531 tonnes (20 percent of the total), followed by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland with 35,324 tonnes (11 percent of the total). "

Chuck ..... you are obviously not good at math ..... We supply 99% of the world's supply of lobster and Canada only supplies           33 1/3%.  Obviously 99% is bigger, so by advanced mathematics, we supply more!wink
