^^ the first I'm hearing of them.
So naturally (?) I asked Mr. Google >> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Songs_written_by_Felice_and_Boudleaux_Bryant
It looks like I've heard quite a few [maybe even some that I don't recognize by title ?], but none "right up there" as a favorite of mine, but for a long time music was "in one ear and out the other" for me.
And, from the redundant department of redundancy, I have no personal story related to them.
The Bryants brought the songs, Chet Atkins handled production, The Everly Bros. brought their amazing voices, and the result imo was some of the best music ever made in Nashville, lots of hit records. Although perusing wiki I see that some of my favorite Everly songs---"Love Hurts: and "All I have to do Dream" were written by Boudleaux alone.
And I was surprised to learn that my very favorite of theirs "Walk Right Back" was not by F&B like I thought but was a Sonny Curtis song.

Surprised Gram didn't steal it like he did Hickory Wind
Not really surprised. The Bryants would have had lawyers.

So did Gram when he was sued for stealing the song. He paid the woman (who was a classmate of mine) eventually for the song and the case was settled and he "owned" the song and could claim authorship.

Yeah, Gram would certainly have had lawyers, but I was referring to the woman. How good a lawyer could she afford?

Also: Fun to know that the Bryants showed their versatility and Inclusiveness by writing both ROCKY TOP and MUDDY BOTTOM!

I guess she had pretty good lawyers, as they settled the case without it going to court. I have no idea how much money she got in the settlement, but it would have been nice to have collected the royalties for the number of times it has been performed by various artists. Sylvia Sammons, who wrote the song, was blind and was pretty well known around town for her folk singing.
Gram heard her sing it when he was living in Greenville (SC) when he belonged to a folk band made up of my high school friends. Another of my friends was their manager.

But she didn't get a songwriting credit? Gram got the whole thing? Even Elvis gave the songwriter half the credit.

None of the credit ..... guess that was part of the settlement. It is funny however, but one of his cronies claims that he and Gram wrote it on a trip somewhere. I'll look it up.
