Interesting. I saw Bonnie as a young thing at the Mariposa Folk Festival in '72, then at Convocation Hall (U of T) in '73 (Leon Redbone opened), Linda opening for America and James Taylor (headliner) at Varsity Stadium in '74, and Joan with Dylan and the Rolling Thunder Revue at Maple Leaf Gardens in early '75. All great, all different and unique. And, yes, too bad about Linda (note the walker).
Anne Murray had a curious comment about Emmylou once. She said that, early on, Emmylou was natural, unaffected in her appearance, but, on a later occasion, sent Anne a bill for cosmetics/makeup/whatever for the show ... $5,000.
Thanks for the pic.
I love Anne Murray, but she once publicly said that when she had Lenny Breau in her band he got all the other other band members hooked on drugs. (kind of amusing,, sort of…)
p.s., there's some history between Emmy Lou and Anne regarding Brian Ahern, if I remember right. He produced albums by both of them , esp. early Anne Murray's, & later married Emmy Lou. (insert gossip icon)
