There are a number of auction sites where you can buy domains and sell them too. It surprises me how low they're selling for. You can look at the list and see some pretty valuable looking names that go for less than $300.

Years ago, when I had a side hustle, I bought my personal name as a domain name. Once I stopped the hustle, I kept up ownership of the name - it’s doesn’t cost much to renew- and I thought maybe I’d need it someday.
A while back a politician reached out and asked if he could buy it off me. Same name and all, but neither of us had any idea how to price it.
In the end, I leased it to this guy for a couple of years for a $50 Amazon card. We both felt like we made out.
I had a similar experience to Paul. My wife bred AKC bulldogs and we created lotsabull.com, our motto "Only bulldogs no BS".
One year we had a contact with a media company that offered us 1200 for the name. Thinking that was stupid, we countered with 1800 for no reason at all. They paid.
We then registered lotsAbullz.com and continued on for another 7 years before shuttering it. That company never did anything with the domain name, but I used to get lotsa emails offering to sell it back to me for 2500 or so.
