Was playing gone, gone, gone with a group the other day and was reminded how amazing of a song it was. I’m not super familiar with a lot of the old country/honky-tonk repertoire, and I’d like to change that-they’re such great songs.
With that in mind, I was wondering what you all thought are the best country/Honky Tonk songs done with/by a Bluegrass group? I’d like to go listen/learn. Figured I’d look into common ones done in bluegrass first, see what’s been done/how.
Suggestions for other good old country/Honky Tonk artist artist to check out or also appreciated.

This is one I regularly call at jams. I'm not a very good singer, but I can pull this one off in A.

Best Country / Honky Tonk songs in Bluegrass! Is this not an oxymoron? Bluegrass is BLUEGRASS, Country is COUNTRY and Honky Tonk well what more can I say! Is Sousa Bach? Hell NO!

Often it is the mixing of different genres that brings the music forwards. We have Bluegrass today if Bill Monroe because he mixed traditional music from the British Isles (today often called Old-Time) with jazz and first generation of Country Music.
Heck, if they're good songs, I don't care what category they're in—I like em all...Jack

Although I never heard a banjo arrangement, or know who originally wrote or performed them "YOU WIN AGAIN" +
"WHAT MADE MILWAUKEE FAMOUS - MADE A FOOL OUT OF ME" (I first heard recorded by Jerry Lee Lewis) Is outstandingly HONKY-TONK, & makes me smile every time I hear them. ( No accounting for taste)
