We have built up a nice selection of meats and cheeses and crackers that will make for a nice munchie board.
Also, I plan to make a pot of American Goulash. I hacked together several recipes, but keeping in mind how my mother made it, based on feeble memory. If you have a "secret" or favorite ingredient, let me know. I figure goulash is another one of those peasant dishes that rely mostly on what you have on hand.

I thought Brad was going to be watching the England v France game in the Rugby 6 nations!
Boy... talk about crystal ball gazing!!
It's a fair bit off, so nothing's cast in stone. Guessing that it's an early evening kickoff.... I notice there's a thawed "family pack" of "fresh chicken drumsticks" in the fridge [at least I hope they were fresh when we bought/froze them in Oct.], so chances are they'll figure into it somehow.
Go Habs, Go!! Go Yankees, Go!! .... and when's March Madness this year??

I believe there already is quite a presence Brad. In fact when Trump won the election, the biggest UK radio station wre interviewing the manager of one of the UK teams for his opinion on the results - talk about a tenuous link eh?

Life is just a big game of wins and losses on the path to....well, to the time you just can't play anymore. In the meantime, eat goulash, drink a glass of Zin, and Go Chiefs! Brad

Absolutely!! I bet it's gonna be one hell of a baseball game!
I'm still waiting to hear the final decision on last years World Conkers championship scandal.
I’ll have the game on w/o sound, and check it periodically. If it’s interesting with ten or so minutes to go, I’ll probably watch the final minutes. Food will be whatever’s left from the planned pizza and salad lunch. I have no rooting interest in either team and am only mildly curious to see if KC gets three in a row.
Now, about the goulash in the OP…
While at the store I picked up a small package of mushrooms with a reduced price tag on it. I am considering chopping and tossing those in? I am not adding potatoes, for a variety of reasons. I plan to using Italian seasoning blend for flavor, along S&P as needed.
If you have other ingredients you tend to add just let me know. We don’t make a lot goulash , a time or two in the winter it’s non-fussy pot of food for two or three meals. Brad

Well played sir!
I don’t watch “professional”…ya that’s a good one…football anymore either after the shenanigans that occurred within the last few years in the league…it was too disrespectful.
But…speaking of goulash…my grandmother used to make it for us when we were kids. She is 102 now and no longer cooks…but I do! I’m whipping a batch up as well this weekend.
I use Eva Gabor’s recipe that she shared during an interview years ago…a real old school Hungarian recipe. She used beef round and veal heart, onions, garlic, crushed caraway seeds, paprika, tomatoes, green peppers, salt, beef stock, potaters, and then dumplings cooked on top of it. Yum!
Enjoy your goulash….you’ve always got good taste when it comes to food Brad!

Last time I made a batch of goulash I went the Hungarian route. This time I thought I would make an “American Version.” We will have enough leftover to serve 2 more meals. Each time we heat up leftovers we tweak the dish with additional ingredients. So who knows what style goulash dinner number three will actually be? Brad
Brad , this is coming from a person that grew up on casseroles and goulash!!!
Don’t forget ……..any goulash (tomato base, noodle or macaroni, meat) deserves to hit with a big squirt of Ketchup, before baking….preferably Heinz!!
That is goulash 101. Best side dish for goulash is vinegar based coleslaw served on the same plate so the juice can run into the goulash!!!
