Has anyone attempted or succeeded in arranging the old time fiddle tune, "Piney Woods," to be played as a bluegrass banjo tune? On an archived discussion, someone said that it works quite well in the key of G, but I have found that the song uses about 5 measures per line instead of the usual 4 in Bluegrass mode.

Also, does anyone have the chords for the song, as a guitar player would play?

There's a GIF file in the tab archives that gives the tab for the song but no chords. Maybe you can figure out the chords by looking at the tab.

Thanks, but the gif is for clawhammer and is based on gGDGB tuning.

I found just 1 clawhammer banjo version on YT where both criteria seem to be met (4 measure lines and standard G tuning). I'm now in the B Part transcribing it. So far, I've been able to use Scruggs style rolls in Part A, trying to stay true to the original notes. Hope I can continue the same in Part B.

Oops, my mistake! The gif is in A-modal tuning. Taterjoes' is in A, only requiring a capo on the second fret. I couldn't download Taterjoes yesterday, but I could via the link provided here. Again, thanks for your help!
